Details:

Openers Steve Webb and A.White scored at six an over by hard hitting and adventurous running between the wickets. Then brothers Chris and David Baker built steadily on the excellent start as change bowlers Guy Watson and Stuart McDonald reduced the scoring rate with accurate spells. However, Swanage failed to dismiss David Baker, whose fifty included a towering six hit through the hedge at the Town end.

Craig Wells and Nick Clark opened confidently for Swanage against the impressive Matt Pike and Mike Peak. Unusually, Blandford opted to bowl these two straight through their twelve overs. The decision was justified when they dismissed not only Wells and Clark but the next three batsmen. With 100 needed at 5 runs an over, Swanage’s lower order had a challenging task. Peter Clark and Anton Howse counter attacked with Clark using the sweep shot to hit three sixes. Despite their efforts the 14 runs needed off the last over proved too much. Swanage were left to ponder the ease with which Blandford scored their runs in the opening overs of the game.

While Hardy played the anchor role. , Edgar unleashed a series of fierce drives, ten of which went for four runs. When Edgar was caught, Nick Brown carried on attacking the bowling in a well paced innings, which included a huge six over long on off the last ball.

When Moordown batted, Ron Barker and Edgar bowled tidy, early spells. Excellent catching helped to  reduce Moordown to 94 - 8. Then sensible batting by L.Field and C.Ashdown put on 55 for the ninth wicket but this only set the stage for Edgar to return and achieve his five wicket haul.
