( S.Webb 34, P.Knight 29. P.Holland 3 - 20.)
Result: Swanage lost by three wickets.
Details:
Accurate Blandford bowling on an unreliable pitch made batting a struggle for Swanage throughout their forty five overs. Mike Nash played some fine cut shots as he made 54 out of 89, but even this took him thirty four overs.
The Blandford openers attacked the wayward Swanage opening bowlers to such effect that the score raced to 62 - 0 after only ten overs. The introduction of Peter Kirby and Phil Holland into the attack slowed the run rate to a trickle .In excellent spells, they bowled a succession of maidens and then worked their way through the Blandford top order. However, the damage had been done by the openers and Blandford reached their target comfortably with seven overs to spare.
