Despite losing Theo Holland to an excellent delivery from S.White, Swanage made a steady start. Peter Clark, who played the anchor role, had 40 partnerships with Ron Barker, and then Tim Edgar, which took the score to 90 - 3. S.White then returned for his second spell to rip the heart out of the Swanage batting in an excellent spell of outswing bowling. At one stage, he took four wickets for 2 runs. Later Jonathan Maidman played well, as he and Clark, with some good off drives, steered the score to respectability.

As the Swanage bowlers delivered a succession of wides and no balls, Old Blandfordians had little difficulty with the required run rate. In an unbeaten partnership of 74, A.Joyce struck a succession of clean shots wide of mid on while S.White hit the ball hard through the covers. Despite accurate spells of bowling form Ron Barker and Andy Avery, Old Blandfordians cruised to victory in the thirty ninth over.
