Date and place of Match: Saturday June 18 th, Home. League: NSA Saturday Division 1.

Scoreboard: Suttoners 292 - 8

( C.Rawlings 105*, M. Hollier 42, P.Harping 40, N.Corbin 37. G.Watson 3 - 58.)

Swanage 93

(S.Dyson 20. P.Barber 4 - 37, C.Rawlings 3 - 27.)

Result: Swanage lost by 199 runs

Details:

Lacking three senior players, Swanage entertained top of the table Suttoners at Day's Park. Swanage's opening bowlers did well in the first half of the innings with Guy Watson gaining three quality wickets. At 115 - 5, the game seemed to be in the balance. C. Rawlings now came in at number seven to play an innings of real quality and make the Swanage change bowlers appear sub standard. Rawlings, particularly strong on the drive and through mid wicket, turned the whole game around to take Suttoners to a massive score.

After tea, James Harris fell to a superb catch at square leg and Simon Dyson was aggressive until bowled but good pace bowling by P.Barber and Rawlings never allowed Swanage to get going as they stumbled to a second huge defeat.

Date and place of Match: Sunday June 19 th, Away. League: NSA Sunday Division 3.

Scoreboard: Swanage First Eleven 117

( T.Edgar 30, R.Wilcox 25. C.Fish 5 - 28.)

Bradford Abbas 1119 - 3

(C.Pearce 59*, C.Fish 30*, M.Loch 22.)

Result: Swanage lost by seven wickets

Details:

Runs seemed hard to come by on a long outfield at Bradford Abbas. With wickets falling at the other end, number three Tim Edgar, batted sensibly until spinner, C.Fish, induced a rush of blood and had Edgar stumped. The innings was in trouble at 55 - 5 when Roger Wilcox and Lewis Kirby got their heads down and lifted the score to three figures but the innings still closed three overs early.

After tea, first change Roger Wilcox took two wickets in an over to make the score 48 - 3 and give Swanage a semblance of a chance. However, C.Pearce was already hitting the ball very hard and, with support from C.Fish, he took Bradford to an easy win.
