(I.Booth 47, S.Dyson 33, C.Wells 27. I.Hutchins 4 - 46, P.Martin 3 - 33.)

Result: Swanage lost by 9 runs.

Details: 

Ryan Norman conceded only 15 runs off his opening six overs to start an exciting game against old rivals Beaminster. Norman, Simon Dyson and Guy Watson gained early wickets to leave the score at 41 - 3. B.Freake and J.Davis now improved the scoreline with a 98 run partnership. Freake took played many shots through mid wicket while Davis played into the gaps on both off and on sides. Change bowler Patrick Yerby bowled well but ended up with no wickets after having four catches dropped. Three late wickets in an excellent spell from Mike Nash cleaned up the tail to close the innings with two overs to spare.

In reply, Craig Wells and Anton Howse gave the innings a good start before both fell to first change P.Martin. Classic drives from Ian Booth helped to take the score on to 141 before he was unlucky to fall L.B.W. Dyson helped to add another 21 runs before over ambition led to his being stumped to give off spinner Ian Hutchins his third wicket. At 162 - 6 Swanage needed to shepherd their resources but a crucial run out failed to do this and led to a home win by 9 runs in the forty second over.

Shillingstone First Eleven 128 - 2

(C.Cole 59, I.Paulley 28*, B.Edwards 20.)

Result: Swanage lost by eight wickets

Details: 

Ashley King executed some classical drives in his 32 before he was caught to make the score 89 - 5. Mike Angel bowled his drifters beautifully in his second spell and reduced Swanage to 126 all out. 

After tea, Paul Higham and Sean McLaney put down some good opening overs but a succession of 4's from B.Edwards, C.Cole and I.Paulley took Shillingstone to an early victory.

Scoreboard: Shillingstone Second Eleven 171

(M.Abel 49, M.Webber 27, S.Antell 27.)

Swanage Second Eleven 173 - 7

( I.Harris 32*, P.Clark 27, P.Barker 22. M.Abel 3 - 66.)

Result: Swanage won by three wickets.

Details: 

M.Abel looked to be taking the game away from Swanage with a fierce opening assault, despite a tight opening spell from Chris Carpenter. Then he was bowled swinging at a low full toss from Terry White to make the score 66 - 1. A big effort from all the bowlers now worked their way through the rest of the Shillingstone batting to end the innings in the thirty sixth over.

After tea, good cover driving from Peter Clark helped to take Swanage to 81 - 3. Soon the score had slumped to 118 - 6 and the odds were on Shillingstone. Ian Harris had other ideas. Helped by Daniel White and Chris Moar, he drove and pulled to take Swanage to a good team win with almost four overs to spare.
