Result: Swanage lost by 26 runs.
Details: Colehill laid the
foundations of their innings
through a third wicket
partnership of 60 between G.
Peyman and R. Ryan. However, they
were pegged back mid innings by R.
Norman as he claimed three
wickets in his second spell. The
Swans were unable to capitalise
on this and some powerful late
order stroke play from N.
Woodruff saw Colehill to a
competitive total of 211.
Swanages openers C. Wells and M.
Nash initially struggled to score
against some very tight Colehill
bowling. The innings gained
momentum when the change bowlers
came on and an opening
partnership of 96 gave the Swans
a chance for victory. The game
changed when both openers were
dismissed within the space of
four balls leaving Swanages
middle order an tough task. They
were unable to cope with the
increasing run rate and more
accurate Colehill bowling.
Spinner R. Turner benefited
taking wickets as the batsmen
felt the pressure. Despite good
contributions from N. Clark and A.
Croft Swans fell 26 runs short
and were left ruing the 29 extras
they had given away when bowling. |
