Match: Saturday, July 29th, Home.
League: PCB Saturday Division 2.
Scoreboard: Swanage 232 - 8
( P.Clark 80, J.Clark 54, M.Nash 31, P.Holland
31*, G.Watson 22.
M.Talbot 5 - 60, R.Taylor 3 - 42.)
Poole and Poole O.G.'s 194 - 9
( N.Glover 43*, R.Taylor 28, M.Pardy 21,
P.Eades 21.
R.Norman 3 - 38.)
Result: Swanage won by 38 runs.
Details:
Richard Taylor and Robert Symons bowled
good spells for Poole, only 21 runs
coming from the first twelve overs for
the loss of one wicket. However, Jonny
and Peter Clark had laid the foundations
of a major parrtnership, which eventually
dominated the bowling with clean drives
through extra cover and big straight hits.
They had put on 129 when Mike Talbot
dismissed both in successive balls with
his aerial form of leg spin. Talbot
stayed in the action when, two overs
later, he took a hat trick. Swanage were
reduced to 177 - 6 but excellent play by
Mike Nash and Phil Holland lifted them to
a useful total.
In reply, Poole were resticted to 41 runs
in twenty overs by accurate bowling from
Ryan Norman and Mark Parsons. Norman
bowled with pace to take 3 - 17 in his
first spell. Swanage continued to prosper
and, at 83 - 7, the game was gone for
Poole. A good rearguard action from Nick
Glover and Richard Taylor took Poole to a
respectable total but Swanage were
pleased to win this top of the table
clash and confirm their current position
as leaders of Division 2.

Scoreboard: Bournemouth 200
( A.Dare 60, N.Staddon 43. G.Watson 4 -
49.)
Swanage First Eleven 204 - 1
( N.Clark 115*, J.Clark 66*.)
Result: Swanage won by 9 wickets.
Details: Terry Falck made two early
breakthroughs in an outstanding spell of
fast bowling at Day's Park. First he
trapped C.Collins leg before and then had
Chris Insall caught behind.. Neil Staddon
steadied the innings until he was bowled
by Ryan Norman. Number 5, A.Dare, looked
to have set Bournemouth up for a big
score with a hard hitting knock, which
included three sixes. However, Dare was
bowled the ball after his last six by Guy
Watson, who took three more wickets in an
important spell, which reduced ten man
Bournemouth from 168 - 5 to 200 all out.
When Craig Wells went early, Nick Clark
was joined by his brother Jonny with the
score at 6 - 1. Together, they
consolidated the innings against accurate
the bowling of Ligtermoet and Haniff,
only reaching 50 in the nineteenth over.
Then Nick Clark hit four successive fours
to set up a momentum which was never lost
in an unbroken partnership of 198.
Dominating with powerful driving, he
scored his second century of the weekend,
hitting two 6's and fifteen 4's. Jonny
Clark provided the ideal foil, constantly
rotating the strike and peppering the mid-wicket
boundary with superb shots off his legs.
The target was reached in the forty-fourth
over to give Swanage a most satisfying
victory.

Scoreboard: Bournemouth Second Eleven
266
( J.Bryson 64, J.Banfield 60, L.B.Clark
40, M.Bullen 24, A.Dunkeley 23.
R.Wilcox 4 - 55. )
Swanage Second Eleven 200 - 8
( N.Bishop 49, T.Buck 23, J.Hardy 23. L.B.Clark
3 - 45.)
Result: Swanage lost by 66 runs.
Report: L.B.Clark and A.Dunkeley opened
briskly for Bournemouth, 53 runs coming
off the first ten overs. Chris Elfes' off
spin put on a temporary brake, as he
induced two catches at extra cover, but
Banfield and Bryson batted aggressively
to put on 74 for the fifth wicket. In an
accurate spell, Roger Wilcox dismissed
them both and helped Swanage to pick up
the last six wickets for 42 runs.
After a poor start, Terry Buck and Nick
Bishop got the innings on its way,
putting on 80 for the third wicket.
Although never threatening Bournemouth's
large score, all the other batsmen
contributed to enable Swanage to reach a
respectable total.
